Lights! Camera! Action! The Council on Patient Safety in Women’s Health Care is excited to announce the National Improvement Video Challenge. The Challenge is designed to provide an opportunity for institutions to share how they have utilized the Council’s Patient Safety Bundles in an innovative and interactive way.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, patient safety, and communication between clinicians and patients to promote the Council’s mission: safe health care for every woman.
  • Facilitate innovative peer-to-peer sharing of best practices related to the implementation and use of the Council’s Patient Safety Bundles.

Any individual or team in the United States who has implemented one or more of the Council’s Patient Safety Bundles is encouraged to apply.

Eligible bundle topics are listed below; if your organization has implemented more than one bundle, we encourage you to submit multiple videos!

  • Maternal Mental Health: Perinatal Depression and Anxiety
  • Maternal Venous Thromboembolism
  • Obstetric Hemorrhage
  • Prevention of Surgical Site Infections After Major Gynecologic Surgery
  • Reduction of Peripartum Racial/Ethnic Disparities
  • Safe Reduction of Primary Cesarean Birth
  • Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy
  • Support After a Severe Maternal Event

  • Develop a short (3-5 minute) video showcasing how the bundle has been implemented/utilized.
  • NEW: Your video doesn’t have to cover an entire bundle. Simply pick one of the R’s to focus on or even choose just one of the elements within an R. Have a proven method for providing discharge instructions? Tell us about it! Have an innovative way to deliver provider education? We want to hear!
  • Upload your video to your YouTube or Vimeo account. Instructions on how to upload videos can be found here: YouTube | Vimeo.
  • Submit the online Video Challenge Application Form

Please note: Individuals or teams are responsible for complying with their own organizational/institutional requirements regarding the completion of release forms for image use and/or recording on site.

Submissions will be evaluated and voted on by the members of Council on Patient Safety in Women’s Health Care on the following criteria:
